Family Solicitor – Care Proceedings (1-5 PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a Family Solicitor with 1‑5 years post‑qualification experience to join a well‑established specialist family law practice in Bristol. The role focuses on representing parents in care proceedings and related public children law matters, offering a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of publicly funded family matters, primarily on behalf of parents.
• Handle care proceedings, Public Law Outline (PLO) matters, pre‑proceedings work, and non‑accidental injury cases.
• Provide practical, empathetic advice throughout complex and sensitive proceedings.
• Liaise with local authorities and other stakeholders to protect vulnerable children.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Care Proceedings and Public Children Law.
• Experience advising and representing parents in local authority proceedings.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
• Commitment to supporting vulnerable clients.
