Family Solicitor – Private Practice

About the role

A respected and growing law firm in Henley-on-Thames is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join its established Family Law department. You will work in a supportive, modern, client‑focused practice handling a high‑quality, privately funded caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of family matters, including divorce, separation, dissolution and financial remedy proceedings.
• Handle child arrangements, parental responsibility issues, and cohabitation or separation agreements.
• Draft and advise on pre‑nuptial and post‑nuptial agreements.
• Deal with domestic abuse matters, including non‑molestation and occupation orders.
• Provide sensitive client advice throughout all stages of family proceedings.
• Collaborate closely with senior fee‑earners while maintaining autonomy over your own caseload.

Required profile

• 2+ years’ post‑qualification experience (flexible for strong applicants).
• Solid experience across a broad range of family law work.
• Strong communication and client‑care skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, professional approach with excellent attention to detail.
• NQ solicitors with strong family seats will also be considered.

Required skills

• Expertise in divorce, financial remedy, child arrangements and parental responsibility.
• Experience drafting cohabitation, separation, pre‑nuptial and post‑nuptial agreements.
• Knowledge of domestic abuse orders (non‑molestation, occupation).
• Client advisory and case management skills.
• Legal research and document drafting abilities.
