Female Relief Support Worker – Trauma Informed Care

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate female Relief Support Worker to join our Preston Trauma Service on a temporary, full‑time basis. You will work within a 24/7, person‑centred environment supporting women transitioning from long‑stay mental health institutions to independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to women with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and trauma histories.
• Promote independence, structure, boundaries and routine both in the home and within the local community.
• Facilitate daily activities, complete household tasks and maintain a calm, nurturing environment.
• Work across three bespoke supported‑living services to ensure consistent, high‑quality care.
• Follow company policies, individual support plans and occupational health and safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Female applicants only, as gender is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
• Demonstrable experience in the care sector, preferably with learning disabilities, autism or mental health.
• Reliable, compassionate and able to work flexibly across multiple services.
