Field Interviewer – Perth

About the role

As a Field Interviewer you will visit households in the Kinross area to conduct face‑to‑face research interviews on topics such as health, housing and transport. Using a tablet or laptop you will guide conversations that capture real‑world experiences, helping Natcen produce evidence that influences public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Knock on doors and arrange interviews with residents who have received a prior invitation letter.
• Conduct structured interviews on a tablet or laptop, ensuring accurate data capture.
• Record travel time and mileage in line with company guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, even when households decline participation.
• Adhere to data protection and confidentiality standards, including completing a DBS check.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 business insurance for vehicle use.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Reliable home broadband and a laptop or tablet with a working camera.
• Minimum 18 hours per week availability, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills for operating tablet/laptop software.

What we offer

• £20‑£30 per completed interview (average hourly rate £15.12 including holiday pay).
• Admin fees and statutory holiday pay (12.1%).
• Travel reimbursement at £4.68 per hour and mileage at 36p per mile (up to 10,000 mi).
• Performance bonuses: £250 after launch, then additional £250 at two‑ and four‑month milestones.
• Flexible part‑time schedule that can fit around other commitments.
