Field IT Service Engineer – Kent (South East England)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Field IT Service Engineer to cover the South East of England from a base in Kent. You will be the first point of contact for new EPOS installations and specialist support, ensuring reliable service for our retail network.

Key responsibilities

• Install new EPOS hardware, including data cabling where required.
• Deploy systems following documented procedures.
• Provide EPOS operational advice via telephone, modem, best‑practice guidance or training.
• Maintain personal availability across the defined territory and keep an adequate stock of spare parts.
• Follow all build and repair processes and keep work areas and vehicles clean and safe.
• Track assets and assign them to the correct customer.
• Support non‑EPOS PC‑based ordering systems and assist the Helpdesk as needed.
• Perform general administration duties and report potential future issues.

Required profile

• Motivated, friendly and hands‑on with a passion for delivering great service.
• Comfortable working alone or as part of a small team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Electrical qualification preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of structured data cabling preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Proven IT fault‑finding experience (essential).
