Field Motor Engineer – London & Surrounding Area

About the role

Join Davies Group’s high‑performing engineering team as a Field Motor Engineer supporting London and surrounding areas. You will apply your technical expertise to assess, value and negotiate vehicle repairs and total loss settlements while working closely with customers, repairers and internal planning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality reports on vehicle damage and repair costs.
• Assess, value and negotiate repair estimates using industry‑standard tools.
• Provide accurate vehicle valuations and negotiate total‑loss settlements.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of salvage categories and claims management processes.
• Liaise with the field planning team, repairers and customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Support team members and adapt to changing departmental requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified to a minimum I.A.E.A or ATA (VDA) standard.
• Hands‑on experience leading or supporting an engineering function in an insurer, independent firm or similar technical environment.
• Ability to resolve customer complaints and meet SLA reporting timescales.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Audatex estimating system.
• Proficiency with Glassmatix estimating system.
• AQP qualification (advantageous).
• Experience inspecting cars, HGVs, agricultural implements and caravans.
