Field Service Engineer – Fire & Life Safety Systems

About the role

Join a well‑established service and installation business as a Field Service Engineer specialising in fire and life safety systems across the South West region. You will work independently, visiting customer sites to ensure systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with customer schedules.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs and unscheduled work within agreed SLAs.
• Diagnose faults and perform remedial or modification works on fire safety systems.
• Complete service worksheets and documentation to BS5839 standards.
• Identify non‑compliances, propose additional works and provide feedback to the Field Services Manager.
• Support installation teams when required and conduct follow‑up visits to confirm remedial work completion.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a field service engineer in fire or life safety systems.
• Ability to work autonomously across a varied customer base.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and clear communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
