Field Service Engineer – Industrial Power & Drive Systems

About the role

The role is a customer‑facing Field Service Engineer supporting industrial power and drive systems for a leading specialist systems manufacturer. You will work on a variety of equipment including metal test rigs, hydrogen electrolyzers, EV charging stations and battery energy storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot, repair and support AC/DC motor control systems on site.
• Support new installations, start‑ups and future projects across multiple sectors.
• Provide emergency on‑site assistance and remote support via phone or email.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers on testing and system functionality.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades, spare parts and value‑added services.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained with HND level education or higher.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, including short‑notice and emergency call‑outs.
• Ability to work non‑standard hours, on‑call duties, in confined spaces and at heights.

Required skills

• Experience with AC or DC drives.
• PLC programming and HMI configuration experience.
