Field Service Engineer – Siemens PLCs

About the role

We are seeking a multi‑skilled Field Service Engineer to support the installation, repair and upgrade of end‑of‑line packaging machinery across the UK and Ireland. The role is primarily home‑based with extensive travel, focusing on Siemens PLC systems used in food and beverage environments.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, refurbish, install and commission packaging equipment.
• Perform fault finding, modification and upgrading of Siemens (or similar) PLCs.
• Travel 2–3 nights per week and work one weekend per month.
• Provide on‑site technical support and training to customers.
• Collaborate with the UK sales and service team to ensure equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer with packaging machinery in the food/beverage sector.
• Electrical and electronic engineering qualifications.
• Hands‑on experience with Siemens PLC fault finding, modification and upgrade.
• Factory Maintenance Engineers with comparable PLC knowledge are also considered.
