Finance Administrator (12‑month maternity cover)

About the role

A well‑established business in Leeds is seeking an experienced Finance Administrator for a 12‑month maternity cover. The role supports the wider finance function with customer account administration, payment processing, reconciliations and general accounts‑receivable duties.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain customer accounts
• Carry out basic credit checks and review account information
• Check documentation and follow up on missing information
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve account queries
• Support payment allocation and banking processes
• Investigate and clear unallocated cash
• Assist with month‑end reconciliations
• Manage shared inboxes and respond to finance‑related queries
• Provide general administrative support to the wider finance team

Required profile

• Previous experience in accounts receivable, credit control, sales ledger or finance administration
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good Excel skills
• Experience using a large finance system, preferably SAP or similar
• Confident communication with internal teams by phone and email
• Ability to manage a busy workload and follow tasks through to completion
• Proactive, reliable and team‑focused approach
