Finance Assistant

About the role

OpenWorks is seeking an organised and proactive Finance Assistant to support its finance function in a fast‑growing, global engineering business. You will maintain accurate financial records, focusing on sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and month‑end activities such as accruals and pre‑payments.

Key responsibilities

• Raise, process and allocate sales invoices; monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding debts.
• Process supplier invoices, ensure correct coding and authorisation, and run supplier payment batches.
• Reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up‑to‑date supplier records.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigate and resolve any variances.
• Handle expense claims and credit‑card transactions, supporting month‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
