Finance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join a growing business in Borehamwood. This full‑time position offers the chance to develop your finance career within a supportive, collaborative environment. You will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate financial processing and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and assist with payment runs.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices.
• Support credit control activities and manage customer accounts.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Process employee expenses and payroll‑related information.
• Maintain accurate financial records in the accounting system.
• Assist with month‑end procedures and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support VAT submissions and compliance activities.
• Produce financial reports and analysis as required.
• Assist with fixed‑asset administration and general finance support.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or similar role.
• Solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or other project‑based environments (preferred).
• Knowledge of CIS processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Proactive, positive attitude and ability to manage multiple priorities.
