Finance Assistant – Join Friendly Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our close‑knit finance team in Southampton. You will help keep the finance inboxes running smoothly, process invoices and support accurate reporting while enjoying a supportive, fun environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple finance inboxes, investigate queries and ensure nothing is missed.
• Process, flag and push invoices through Xero, raising daily invoices as required.
• Use council portals to collect weekly data and produce accurate reports.
• Reconcile spreadsheets to confirm payments match portal requirements.
• Create journals or templates for invoice uploads and pass invoices for approval.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk).
• Curious, progressive mindset with a willingness to ask questions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies.
• Team‑player attitude that brings positive energy to the office.
