Finance Assistant – Temporary Full‑Time (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the Alliance Finance Department at Dorset Police headquarters in Winfrith, Dorchester. This full‑time temporary position offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to split your time between the office and remote work. You will support central purchasing and exchequer activities while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Source purchasing requests and ensure timely fulfilment.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers to manage consumables efficiently.
• Process invoices accurately and within specified timescales.
• Maintain financial records and ensure value for money in all purchasing activities.
• Administer receipt of goods and update inventory as required.
• Manage outstanding debts and monitor finances to keep them healthy.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Handle cash collections and banking transactions with integrity.
