Finance Business Partner

About the role

Elevation Recruitment Group is recruiting a Finance Business Partner for a not‑for‑profit organisation. The role is remote‑based with occasional travel to Manchester to collaborate with key stakeholders. You will work closely with Operational and Commercial Directors, providing insight, challenge and financial assurance to support better business decisions and long‑term financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regular strategic financial reviews with Operational and Commercial Directors, identifying emerging risks, pressures and opportunities.
• Analyse financial performance and develop practical options to improve performance and sustainability.
• Support commissioner discussions by delivering financial insight on spend, performance, funding and contract variations.
• Contribute finance input into bids, tenders and re‑tenders, including pricing, assumptions and sustainability analysis.
• Resolve invoicing issues and overdue income alongside Accounts Receivable teams.
• Identify and escalate financial, funding and performance risks early.
• Deliver targeted finance training, coaching and guidance to non‑finance colleagues.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Financial Control and Shared Services to ensure robust financial analysis underpins advice.
• Help operational teams understand financial information and the levers available to improve performance.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or actively studying and nearing completion.
• Experience in a finance business‑partnering or management‑accounting role.
• Confidence supporting budget holders and reviewing financial performance.
• Proven ability to identify financial risks and know when to escalate.
• Comfortable working collaboratively across finance and operational teams.
• Ability to understand business models and pinpoint financial levers for improvement.
• Highly analytical with strong financial and Excel skills.
• Effective at explaining financial information to non‑finance colleagues.
• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
• Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and providing an objective financial perspective.
• Organised and able to prioritise issues that have the greatest impact.
