Finance Business Partner

About the role

Blood Cancer UK is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its Finance Planning & Analysis and Business Partnering team. The role offers a chance for a newly qualified accountant or an experienced finance professional to influence financial decisions across the charity, supporting research, patient services and organisational strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to provide financial insight, challenge and alignment with strategic goals.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning for directorates, ensuring accurate and sustainable financial plans.
• Act as finance lead for procurement and tender processes, assessing costs, affordability and value for money.
• Support development and oversight of restricted income reporting, ensuring donor and statutory compliance.
• Deliver monthly financial reporting, monitor performance against budget and advise on risks and opportunities.
• Improve financial systems, tools, processes and controls to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Assist with year‑end reporting, audit preparation and statutory reporting.
• Contribute to cross‑directorate financial planning and modelling initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) and actively working towards full qualification.
• Experience in finance business partnering or a similar analytical finance role.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including use of formulas and data analysis.
• VBA scripting experience to automate financial processes.
