Finance Business Partner – Retail & FMCG

About the role

This position supports a recognised retail and FMCG brand headquartered in Southampton. Reporting to the CFO, you will act as the commercial finance lead for the sales and marketing functions, delivering insight that drives strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain financial analysis workbooks covering historic sales, revenue, contribution, unit volumes, ASP and product profitability.
• Manage a central standard‑costing workbook and support its migration into the ERP system within 18 months.
• Prepare individual P&L reports for key customers, including e‑commerce profitability analysis.
• Coordinate monthly trading reports, commercial insight and board‑pack revenue slides for senior management.
• Support M&A activities with trade and commercial analysis of prospective targets.
• Provide financial and commercial advice to senior leaders, influencing performance and strategy.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
• Proven experience adding value in a retail or FMCG finance environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior stakeholders.
