Finance Consultant

About the role

Balance is building AI that automates back‑office finance tasks. As a Finance Consultant you will combine three traditional finance functions—quality control, client relationship management, and product feedback—into a single, fast‑moving role that evolves with the technology.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate the output of Balance’s bookkeeping agents, acting as the quality bar.
• Own the month‑end close process for a portfolio of clients.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing financial sanity checks.
• Translate client observations into actionable feedback for the engineering team.
• Develop and nurture relationships with assigned clients, ensuring trust and satisfaction.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance experience handling balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and related reporting.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and automation, with a desire to eliminate manual busywork.
• Enjoyment of client interaction and a willingness to take ownership in a fast‑paced startup.
• Comfort with a dynamic environment where processes are still being defined.
• Ability to work from the London office at least three days per week, full‑time.
