Finance Director

About the role

This is a board‑level Finance Director position within a growing UK manufacturing business. The role will shape financial strategy, drive performance and support sustainable growth, working closely with the Managing Director and Board.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Develop and execute a financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Provide strategic financial insight and guidance to the Managing Director and Board.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and cost‑control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, audits and tax regulations.
• Support operational teams with financial analysis and performance metrics.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditure and ROI.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks and advisors.
• Develop and mentor the finance team to enhance capability and performance.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven senior finance leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing SMEs.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to influence at board level.
• Hands‑on approach with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Integrity, professionalism and a solutions‑focused mindset.
