Finance Manager

About the role

We’re looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager to join our growing team. You will manage day‑to‑day finance operations, reporting routines and support project finance and audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, bill payments and handle customer and supplier queries.
• Perform month‑end bookkeeping, prepare VAT returns, forecast cashflow and produce management accounts.
• Work with external accountants to prepare year‑end accounts and R&D tax credit applications.
• Support project finance activities and routine reporting.
• Assist the CFO with special projects.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a finance role.
• AAT Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proven ability to prepare cashflow forecasts, budgets and financial reports with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience supporting R&D tax credit claims.
• Financial modelling capabilities.
• Experience in a start‑up environment.
• Project accounting and grant‑funded project experience.
• Implementation and improvement of finance systems, controls and reporting processes.
