Finance Manager – Not‑for‑Profit (Bournemouth)

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead financial operations for a respected not‑for‑profit organisation in Bournemouth. This permanent role involves overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting and compliance to ensure the charity’s financial health. You will work closely with senior leadership and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of accurate financial reports and statements.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to support organisational goals.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks effectively.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to maintain high performance standards.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Support fundraising and grant management from a financial perspective.

Required profile

• Professional qualifications in accounting or finance.
• Demonstrable experience in financial management within the not‑for‑profit sector.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes.
• Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Experience in managing and developing a team.
