Finance Reporting & Systems Analyst

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting a Finance Reporting & Systems Analyst on behalf of a well‑established private business near Bournemouth. The role supports the central finance function by managing data, producing reports and administering finance systems, reporting to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Produce regular financial, KPI and management reports using Excel and other tools.
• Maintain accurate finance and operational data across multiple systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with reconciliation and consolidation of data from various systems to ensure reliable reporting.
• Develop and maintain Excel reports and Power Query solutions, with future development into Power BI.
• Provide day‑to‑day support for finance systems, including record maintenance and user query assistance.
• Support system testing, upgrades and data mapping for new functionality.
• Help with budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• Advanced Excel skills – formulas, PivotTables and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and producing accurate reports.
• Understanding of accounting principles and management reporting.
• Good numerical and analytical abilities to investigate data discrepancies.
• Proactive, organised and strong problem‑solving approach.
• Confident communicator able to support colleagues with system queries.

What we offer

• Salary £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience.
• 6% employer pension contribution (3% employee).
