Finance Systems Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK law firm to find a Finance Systems Accountant for its Finance Systems team in Bristol. The role focuses on enhancing finance systems, improving data quality, and supporting the firm’s digital transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvements across finance systems and processes.
• Lead and support system upgrades, enhancements and testing.
• Review existing processes to boost efficiency, data quality and controls.
• Develop financial reports, dashboards and data solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Support the ongoing digitisation of the finance function.
• Provide training, guidance and support on finance systems and processes.
• Analyse financial data to spot issues, opportunities and areas for improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent).
• Experience in finance systems, systems accounting or a similar role.
• Background with Aderant or 3E, or prior experience in the legal sector.
• Proven track record supporting finance system upgrades, implementations or process‑improvement projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience using SQL to query, analyse and interpret financial data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Interest in leveraging technology and data to improve finance processes.
