Finance Transformation & Controls Lead

About the role

We are a leading alcohol wholesaler with annual revenues of around £160 million. Following the rollout of a new SAP ERP platform, we are looking for a Finance Transformation & Controls Lead to strengthen financial controls, improve data quality and drive ongoing optimisation of finance processes across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Venus finance representative for SAP‑supported finance processes and ensure they are efficient, scalable and well‑controlled.
• Review, document and continuously improve finance processes; develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Identify process gaps, control weaknesses and automation opportunities, and drive consistent adoption of agreed processes.
• Support finance transformation initiatives that standardise processes, reduce manual effort and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Booker Finance and technology teams to clarify requirements, assess risks and manage business impacts.
• Assist with assessment, testing and user‑acceptance testing of process and system changes, including system releases.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with finance processes supported by SAP.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and process documentation.
• Ability to liaise effectively between finance and technology functions.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
