Financial Accountant – Adult Social Care

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Adult Social Care team of a local government client. The role is permanent and offers a hybrid working pattern, with two days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Budget Managers to assist with costing and identify potential pressures and savings.
• Anticipate and identify financial issues, ensure net expenditure stays within budget, and escalate unresolved matters.
• Participate in monthly business area meetings to challenge and scrutinise monitoring figures.
• Undertake service analysis to support year‑end positions and accounts.
• Collaborate with Commercial and Strategic Finance Teams to produce robust financial and commercial analysis, including business cases.
• Contribute to financial modelling of new or changed services and work with stakeholders to enhance financial performance.

Required profile

• Fully qualified or part‑qualified accountant.
• Experience in local government or public sector finance.
• Experience in adult social care finance is desirable.
