Financial Accountant – Interim 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

We are seeking an interim Financial Accountant to join a high‑profile charitable organisation in London on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. You will work within a focused finance team, reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, and play a key role in delivering accurate statutory accounts and robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the year‑end closing process under the charities SORP, including posting journals and audit adjustments.
• Implement and monitor internal control procedures related to the balance sheet.
• Monitor and forecast cash flow, maintain treasury management controls and oversee bank positions.
• Maintain relationships with banks and investment advisors.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for the charity and its trading subsidiaries.
• Support the delivery of consolidated statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, or in the final stages of professional exams.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and charities SORP.
• Technical aptitude, proactive approach and high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
