Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading international law firm, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its UK Accounting team in London. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate management reporting and supporting finance transformation initiatives across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate management reports and assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts for multiple entities.
• Own month‑end and year‑end accounting activities, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting.
• Perform balance‑sheet and profit‑and‑loss reconciliations, identifying opportunities to improve controls and streamline processes.
• Prepare monthly journals and support routine accounting tasks.
• Assist with statutory audits by preparing financial information and liaising with external auditors.
• Generate regular financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders.
• Support finance transformation projects, including systems and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the enhancement of financial controls and accounting procedures across the business.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Previous experience in a management or financial accounting role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially in balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial controls.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with complex accounting systems.
