Financial Accountant – Oxford

About the role

This exciting opportunity is for a Financial Accountant based in Oxford. The role requires a detail‑oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and finance to manage core financial tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts and management reports.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end processes, including journals, accruals, pre‑payments and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Conduct budgeting and forecasting processes and provide variance analysis.
• Ensure tax and VAT compliance.
• Improve financial controls and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification or working towards one.
• Relevant experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive problem‑solving and process‑improvement mindset.
