Financial Accountant – Payroll & Pensions

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to own payroll accounting, pension reporting and other centralised employee cost matters for a leading organisation. The role sits at the intersection of finance, payroll operations and external advisers, providing critical support for accurate financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure accurate payroll entries, reconciliations and compliance with financial controls.
- Lead IAS 19 accounting for defined benefit pension schemes and advise senior leadership on pension‑related issues.
- Manage IFRS 2 charges and incentive provisions, collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Act as the primary interface between finance teams, payroll operations and external advisers.
Required profile
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 19 and IFRS 2.
- Experience in payroll or pensions accounting within complex organisations or Big 4 audit firms.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and collaborative mindset.
