Financial Accounting Senior – Chatham/Horsham

About the role

Our client, a well‑established professional services firm, is expanding its Financial Reporting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to deepen technical expertise in statutory accounts and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of financial reporting engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of financial reporting accounts, ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with audit teams, partners and other service lines to support smooth completion of engagements.
• Act as the primary contact for clients and audit teams on reporting matters.
• Prepare, review and delegate assignments within agreed budgets and quality standards.
• Work on larger, complex accounts including consolidations and research technical issues.
• Supervise, support and review the work of junior colleagues, offshore team members and semi‑seniors.
• Monitor progress across multiple engagements, managing deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
• Ensure all files are complete, review‑ready and meet documentation and compliance standards.
• Address review points raised by managers, directors and partners promptly.
• Contribute to service‑line growth through collaborative working and business development activities.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation.
• Hands‑on experience preparing consolidations and managing complex reporting assignments.
• Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members.
• Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and audit teams.
