Financial Analyst – PFI Contracts

About the role

This interim position supports a public‑sector client in evaluating the affordability, risk transfer and value for money of a PFI infrastructure contract. The role starts immediately and is home‑based, offering a day‑rate within IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret ambiguous data sets and build Excel dashboards to visualise financial figures.
• Analyse provider spreadsheets for inaccuracies and correct reporting errors.
• Extract data from multiple reports and construct lifecycle tracking dashboards.
• Scrutinise projected repair and replacement costs for major assets to ensure proper fund allocation.
• Conduct gap analyses to verify that the private operator has met contractual obligations and that hand‑over does not create unexpected taxpayer burdens.

Required profile

• Proven experience with PFI contracts and lifecycle cost analysis.
• Strong financial analysis and modelling capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results on a tight timeline.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for dashboard creation and data manipulation.
