Financial Controller – Fintech (City of London)

About the role

The Financial Controller will join a high‑growth fintech lender in the City of London, working in a hybrid model (three days in the office). The role combines strategic partnership with senior leadership and hands‑on financial management, driving the finance function as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a commercial partner to senior leadership, investors and key stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions.
• Build and own complex financial models for revenue forecasting, scenario analysis and capital allocation.
• Establish FP&A processes from scratch, including budgeting, forecasting and KPI tracking.
• Lead month‑end close, management reporting and improve reporting speed and accuracy.
• Transition manual, spreadsheet‑heavy processes to scalable systems and support future ERP implementation.
• Oversee revenue recognition, ensure reporting integrity and drive automation across finance.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong academic background.
• 8–10 years of experience in the fintech sector, preferably with lending exposure.
• Proven FP&A capability and advanced financial modelling skills.
• Ability to operate both hands‑on and strategically, improving processes, systems and controls.
