Financial Controller – Hybrid, Bristol

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance function within a fast‑growing fashion e‑commerce business. Based in Bristol with a hybrid schedule (minimum three days in the office), you will work closely with senior leadership to provide accurate reporting, manage cash flow, and deliver commercial insight that drives international expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations and all accounting activities.
• Produce monthly management accounts, board reports and detailed financial analysis.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Monitor financial performance and advise senior stakeholders on commercial decisions.
• Maintain robust financial controls, compliance procedures and statutory reporting.
• Handle payroll, supplier payments, expense processes and VAT reporting for UK and international operations.
• Coordinate external audit, tax matters and banking relationships.
• Reconcile e‑commerce transactions across multiple sales channels and payment platforms.
• Support international market entry through financial analysis and planning.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role, preferably in e‑commerce.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cash‑flow management and commercial finance.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Hands‑on attitude and ability to thrive in a rapidly growing environment.

• Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills.
