Financial Controller – Insurance Business

About the role

A growing, entrepreneurial insurance business is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join its London finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a commercial‑focused role overseeing financial control, reporting, regulatory compliance and supporting the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end financial reporting processes.
• Oversee financial controls, reconciliations and audit management.
• Support regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage insurance finance operations, including premium and claims accounting.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Drive process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across finance, underwriting, operations and actuarial teams to enable business growth.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with Big 4 experience.
• Strong financial controller or senior finance experience, preferably within insurance, MGA or brokerage environments.
• Deep technical accounting and regulatory knowledge.
• Commercially minded with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑growing business.
