Financial Controller

About the role

We are partnering with a growing, well‑established business in Manchester to hire an experienced Financial Controller. This senior position will own the day‑to‑day financial operations, provide strategic insight to senior leaders, and drive continuous improvement across finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Manage the year‑end audit and statutory accounts preparation.
• Maintain strong financial controls, policies and compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team.
• Oversee cash‑flow management and treasury activities.
• Partner with department heads to support commercial decision‑making.
• Drive process improvements and system efficiencies.
• Support the CFO/Finance Director with ad‑hoc projects and analysis.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with a hands‑on approach.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage non‑finance stakeholders.
• Experience managing or mentoring a finance team.
• Highly organised, deadline‑driven and detail‑focused.

What we offer

• Salary £55,000‑£65,000 per year, dependent on experience.
