Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

About the role

Altum Consulting is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting for a high‑profile cultural organisation in London. The role combines strategic financial modelling with day‑to‑day management accounting, supporting senior leadership and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process across all entities and departments, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Coordinate re‑forecasting and medium‑term financial planning activities.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses and business cases to support strategic decisions.
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities and emerging trends.
• Produce management accounts, performance reports and financial dashboards for senior management, the Board and committees.
• Provide clear analysis, commentary and recommendations to support decision‑making.
• Enhance KPI reporting across financial and operational activities.
• Analyse income, expenditure, profitability and trends across cultural, commercial and funded activities.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to budget holders and operational managers.
• Support departments with planning, forecasting and evaluation of commercial initiatives.
• Maintain workforce planning models, salary budgets and establishment reporting.
• Evaluate commercial performance of retail, hospitality, venue hire and other income‑generating activities.
• Provide analysis for grant funding, sponsorship, investment decisions and strategic projects.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting or business partnering.
• Proven track record leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Experience producing management accounts, performance reporting and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
