Financial Support Agent – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) based in Redhill, Surrey provides motor finance to a network of dealerships across the United Kingdom. In this role you will support customers experiencing financial difficulty, acting as a friendly voice, attentive listener and problem‑solver. You will join a supportive team of advisors and receive guidance, training and development from a dedicated team leader.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound calls and make outbound calls to customers in arrears using automated and manual dialing systems.
• Offer appropriate financial signposting, suitable options and guidance on finance agreements.
• Negotiate affordable payment plans that meet both Santander Consumer Finance and customer requirements.
• Handle each call professionally, showing empathy and taking ownership of queries and complaints.
• Update system records accurately and maintain customer agreements.
• Identify and report vulnerable customers, escalating to Champions when needed.
• Escalate any identified risks in line with Santander risk policies and regulatory guidelines.

Required profile

• Team player who can also work autonomously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent telephone manner.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Highly organised with strong planning abilities.
• Positive, enthusiastic and receptive to change.
• Previous call‑centre or call handling experience is desirable.
• Adequate computer literacy, numeracy and good verbal and written communication skills.
