Fleet Technician (Monday‑Friday)

About the role

United Utilities is looking for a skilled Fleet Technician to join its dedicated fleet team in Manchester. Working Monday to Friday, you will maintain a diverse range of vehicles, including HGVs, vans and electric vehicles, ensuring reliable service delivery for essential utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspections and diagnostics on all fleet vehicles.
• Perform routine and complex repairs, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork tasks.
• Develop and follow proactive maintenance plans to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with health & safety and transport regulations.
• Support the introduction of new technologies such as electric vehicle systems.

Required profile

• City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV Maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to train for a Class 1 HGV licence.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of transport and health & safety regulations.
• Desirable: MIG welding/fabrication experience and IRTEC qualification.
