Flood Risk & Drainage Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Flood Risk & Drainage Consultant to join a forward‑thinking environmental consultancy in Bristol. The role offers varied, development‑led projects across property, renewable energy and transport, with clear progression and hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for planning and early design stages.
• Develop and model drainage solutions using InfoDrainage or similar tools.
• Assist with Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) design and master‑planning support.
• Produce planning reports and technical documentation for feasibility, outline design and planning submissions.
• Liaise with clients, design teams and local authorities.
• Manage multiple live projects and contribute to collaborative delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum two years UK experience in flood risk or drainage planning.
• Confident use of InfoDrainage or equivalent software.
• Good understanding of flood‑related planning policy and SuDS guidance.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS.
• Strong communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Proactive, organised and interested in sustainable development.
