Fluent French Commercial Legal Counsel – UK Offices

About the role

Join a high‑performing in‑house legal team supporting a market‑leading workforce solutions business. The role focuses on drafting, negotiating and managing global commercial contracts while providing commercial‑focused legal advice across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements covering permanent and contract recruitment, staff leasing, employer of record services, RPO and MSP.
• Lead contract discussions with external clients, interpret complex clauses, assess commercial risk and produce clear documentation.
• Research and advise on multi‑jurisdictional labour and employment issues to ensure compliant operations.
• Support expansion into new territories by designing compliant engagement routes and commercial models.
• Apply internal approval authorities and risk frameworks to maintain governance.
• Protect the business in disputes, breaches or claims involving clients and contingent workers.
• Track regulatory changes and provide updates to senior legal leadership.
• Advise on data‑protection considerations affecting clients and contractors globally.
• Leverage technology and AI to improve legal workflow efficiency.
• Deliver training to new starters and stakeholders on legal processes.

Required profile

• Law degree and qualified solicitor (UK or international equivalent).
• Fluent French language proficiency.
• At least 1 year of in‑house post‑qualification experience, preferably with global or cross‑border exposure.
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities with a risk‑aware mindset.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial judgment.
• Ability to work at pace, manage multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
• Clear communicator comfortable advising at all organisational levels.
