Forensic Engineer Collision Investigator - Midlands / South

About the role

The Forensic Engineer Collision Investigator will work from home while travelling across the South Midlands and South England to investigate road traffic collisions. You will reconstruct accidents, analyse vehicle data and produce court‑compliant technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to assess damage patterns, mechanical condition and roadworthiness.
• Download and analyse vehicle data (e.g., Bosch CDR) to determine impact forces.
• Review documentary evidence, witness statements and claim forms.
• Prepare accurate, impartial technical reports for courts and insurers.
• Attend court as an expert witness in civil hearings when required.
• Provide expert advice during pre‑litigation investigations to identify fraud, liability disputes and mechanical failures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific, engineering or physics‑related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant experience in collision investigation or vehicle examinations.
• Full clean driving licence (category B) with willingness to travel.
• Desirable: Chartered Engineer status (e.g., MIET, IEng, CEng) or specific collision investigation qualifications.
