Forward Deployed Engineer - Agentforce Operations

About the role

Salesforce is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) focused on Agentforce Operations in London. As a hands-on Technical Builder, you design, construct and deploy enterprise-grade agentic AI solutions directly inside customer environments. You work in an agile deployment pod with a Deployment Strategist and Specialized AI Engineers, acting as the link between advanced AI agents and the wider enterprise technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and optimise complex operational workflows using AFO, defining agent reasoning, tool-calling logic and conditional execution loops.
• Implement agent-to-agent communication standards and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for context sharing, task hand-offs and tool execution.
• Architect and maintain real-time data grounding infrastructure using RAG, vector databases, search indexes and knowledge bases.
• Develop and maintain custom APIs (REST, GraphQL, webhooks) and integration pipelines connecting Agentforce to Salesforce Data Cloud, cloud warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks) and ERPs (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools in daily development, and build telemetry dashboards and ETL/ELT pipelines to track agent performance.
• Act as the bridge between customer deployments and Salesforce product and engineering teams, feeding edge cases back into feature roadmaps.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production AI, data engineering or enterprise integration system deployed.
• Deep experience with LLM orchestration, prompt tuning and RAG pipelines, and practical experience with API design and agent protocols such as MCP.
• Ability to whiteboard architecture with enterprise CTOs and VPs while writing production code.
• Willingness to travel 25-30% for on-site deployment with key enterprise accounts.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Apex.
• API design (REST/SOAP/webhooks) and process orchestration with MuleSoft or custom middleware.
• Data modelling, Kafka, AWS EventBridge, Azure Service Bus, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Nice to have: supply chain, manufacturing or logistics domain expertise; Salesforce ecosystem experience; Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery; reusable accelerators and reference architectures.
