Freelance Auditor - ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is expanding its freelance auditor network in Scotland to support the growing energy sector. The role involves conducting third‑party certification audits for UK‑based oil and gas clients across the Edinburgh‑Aberdeen corridor, starting from late Q2 2026. This is a freelance, day‑rate engagement offering flexibility and the chance to work with a globally recognised certification body.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct third‑party certification audits in line with ISO standards and Bureau Veritas procedures.
• Deliver audits against ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety).
• Plan, lead and report audits clearly and professionally.
• Provide objective audit findings and value‑adding insights to clients.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation and Bureau Veritas requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting third‑party audits.
• Demonstrable auditing experience against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Strong oil and gas sector experience (upstream, downstream, engineering, services or related).
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage audit schedules.
• Right to work in the UK.
