Freelance MRICS Building Surveyor (Remote)

About the role

This is a long‑term freelance opportunity for a chartered MRICS or FRICS Building Surveyor. Working remotely, you will use a proprietary iOS‑based inspection app to capture data on‑site and produce court‑compliant reports without the need for lengthy manual documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect residential properties, including houses and apartments, to identify defects and assess condition.
• Conduct detailed building surveys and produce repair specifications.
• Utilise the iOS inspection software to record findings and generate concise reports.
• Provide expert witness support and building pathology advice when required.
• Maintain accurate records and submit reports for fast payment.

Required profile

• Professional MRICS or FRICS designation.
• Extensive experience in building surveying, including housing disrepair and large loss surveying.
• Working knowledge of HHSRS and the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comfortable working independently with remote team support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Apple iOS devices for field data capture.
• Familiarity with remote work technology and digital reporting tools.
