Freelance Phlebotomist – Home Visits in Cumbria

About the role

Heim is seeking freelance phlebotomists to provide home‑based blood sampling services across Cumbria and surrounding areas. You will work independently, supported by a digital app and the Clinical Operations Team, delivering high‑quality care to patients in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled blood draws at patients’ homes as a lone practitioner, using the mobile app for job coordination and documentation.
• Ensure samples are correctly packaged and dispatched to the hub for courier collection within required timeframes.
• Record test details in the patient’s medical record and report any risks or unsafe conditions to the Clinical team.
• Seek advice from senior colleagues or the Clinical team for situations beyond your expertise.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months full‑time phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to commit to at least 8 hours per week between 7 am–12 pm, Monday‑Friday, with flexibility for additional shifts.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (child and adult) and personal professional indemnity insurance.
