Front of House Manager – Hospitality (Taunton)

About the role

Join one of Somerset's premier independent hospitality venues as a Front of House Manager. You will lead a dynamic team in delivering exceptional service across a variety of events, from weddings and conferences to private functions and tribute nights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate front‑of‑house teams of 2‑20 members during diverse events.
• Maintain consistently high standards of customer service throughout the venue.
• Support recruitment, training and development of staff to enhance performance.
• Collaborate with kitchen and senior management to ensure seamless event execution.
• Handle operational duties including opening, closing, cash‑up procedures and keyholder responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations.
• Assist with event planning, organisation and on‑the‑day coordination.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in hospitality management, supervisory or assistant‑manager roles.
• Proven ability to lead, train and motivate teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and occasional late finishes.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ales, wines, spirits and cellar management.
• Basic computer and administrative proficiency.
• Cash‑handling and keyholder experience.
