Funeral Trainer – Share Your Expertise with Apprentices

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Funeral Director or Mortuary Technician to join our team as a Funeral Trainer. In this hybrid position you will mentor apprentices, develop personalised learning plans and help shape the next generation of funeral care professionals while enjoying flexible working from home and occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Support apprentices working in funeral care settings, building their skills and confidence.
• Create tailored learning plans that address each apprentice’s individual needs.
• Demonstrate the relevance of functional skills such as maths and English in funeral care.
• Maintain strong relationships with employers and keep them updated on apprentice progress.
• Handle administrative duties and plan activities using Google Suite and other systems.
• Travel approximately one day per week to visit apprentices in your region.

Required profile

• Current experience as a Funeral Director (experience supporting Embalmers is desirable).
• Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths, or a willingness to achieve it.
• Full driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for regional travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Suite.
