Game Environment Artist – Immersive Studio (Expression of Interest)

About the role

Framestore is seeking a Game Environment Artist to join its Immersive Studio, working at the intersection of world‑building, technology and real‑time storytelling. The role is ideal for an experienced environment artist with strong Unreal Engine knowledge who enjoys creating performant real‑time environments and stunning level art.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality 3D assets directly in Unreal Engine and external DCCs such as Maya or Houdini.
• Model high‑poly, hard‑surface and organic forms, and develop textures and shaders.
• Develop look‑dev assets and photoreal elements optimised for VR and immersive workflows.
• Build photoreal environments using bespoke kits and marketplace content.
• Craft realistic light rigs and optimise scenes for performance.
• Collaborate with the Immersive team to benchmark and profile hardware capabilities.
• Document workflows, processes and tools.

Required profile

• Demonstrable technical knowledge paired with strong creative and artistic skills.
• Hands‑on experience with look development, lighting and rendering.
• Complete understanding of Unreal Engine.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Positive attitude towards learning and collaboration.
