Garment Technologist

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Garment Technologist to join a fast‑growing importer of white‑label and bespoke ladieswear and menswear. Working closely with the design team and overseas factories, you will ensure that samples are approved, production runs efficiently and deliveries are on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and fit all samples during development, collaborating with designers and customers.
• Develop and maintain size charts for multiple product ranges.
• Provide clear technical comments to factories at each production stage (Proto, SMS, PP, Shipment).
• Update product workbooks with fit feedback and technical instructions.
• Chase samples to meet critical path and delivery dates.
• Attend in‑house fit sessions and ensure garments meet quality standards.
• Review AQL and final inspections, investigating and rectifying any issues.
• Liaise with suppliers and factories to resolve technical problems and meet shipment deadlines.
• Offer technical guidance on new product development to reduce costs and improve quality.

Required profile

• A technically oriented qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar fast‑paced garment environment.
• Ability to work across multiple product categories with confidence.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with diverse cultures.

• Understanding of grading and grade rules.
