GCSE Japanese Examiner (Fully Remote)

About the role

Pearson is seeking qualified professionals to act as GCSE Japanese Examiners. Working fully remotely, you will mark candidates' responses against a pre‑defined mark scheme, helping to maintain the integrity and standards of the qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Mark GCSE Japanese scripts accurately and consistently, using the ePEN digital platform or paper scripts as required.
• Submit marking samples to your Team Leader by the designated deadlines.
• Adhere to all examination procedures, recognition conditions, and administrative requirements.
• Meet marking milestones and ensure timely completion of allocated scripts.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Qualified teacher status (UK or overseas qualifications accepted).
• Minimum 5 months of part‑time teaching experience in the relevant subject within the last 10 years (UK experience preferred) or recent assessment experience with a recognised UK exam board.
• Strong subject knowledge in Japanese to apply the mark scheme correctly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the ePEN marking system for digital script assessment.
